Adobe Help – Uninstalling Adobe Shockwave Player

Adobe Shockwave Player is a Web standard for powerful multimedia playback. The Shockwave Player allows you to view interactive Web content like games, business presentations, entertainment, and advertisements from your Web browser.

When there is error of the Adobe Shockwave Player popping up on your computer, you would be guided to reinstall the program. Undoubtedly, you have to uninstall Adobe Shockwave Player before reinstalling it.

  1. End all the running applications with task manager.
  2. Click on START and proceed to the CONTROL PANEL.
  3. Then you will have to go to the Add/remove programs option present in the CONTROL PANEL for Windows XP; UNINSTALL PROGRAM in case of Windows Vista; PROGRAM in Windows 7.
  4. Change programs or Remove programs have to be selected then from the top left corner but the position will vary depending on the Operating System.
  5. Highlight and select the Adobe Shockwave Player from the list. Then click on the Uninstall or Remove.
  6. It is necessary to reboot the system.

If you are still unable to install Adobe Shockwave Player for it is still detected, you will need to manually delete all its entries within hard drive and registry.

  1. Open Search to make a full search for Adobe Shockwave Player related files. (When you open it, please keep in mind to select Local Hard Drives as your search scale.)
  2. Delete all the files it shows before you.
  3. Turn to Start Menu and then go to Run.
  4. Enter regedit and then click OK to open Registry Editor.
  5. Under folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, you will find Adobe Shockwave Player related entries. Please delete them once for all.
  6. Lastly, reboot your PC.

    How do you uninstall adobe shockwave player? hello (: okay so i accidentally installed this program. I meant to press unisntall but i pushed install. I have an anti virus but im scared that my pc will get infected. So i already went to my pc and pressed local disk but it says that they are all hidden or some stuff like that. I really want to delete it. Can you help?
