Uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software – How To Remove Blackberry Desktop Manager

I have just upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. When I am trying to upgrade to latest Blackberry Desktop, I get the message “The desktop manager is currently running. Before proceeding please close it. Select cancel to abort installation”. I therefore thought I would remove the Blackberry Desktop Manager via add/remove programs but I get the same message.
