My cousin installed McAfee on his wife’s computer a year or so ago. Everything seemed to work ok, although the antivirus slowed down her system a bit. Then roughly a year later, he looks at his monthly credit card bill and sees that McAfee has automatically billed him for another year of service. He was planning on removing the software and installing a free antivirus called Avast on her computer when the renewal time expired. However, the McAfee Antivirus program refuses to be removed even after he called McAfee department.
Despite the fact that the McAfee anti-virus software has evolved from a single standalone anti-virus program into a complete protection suite that provides universal and real time protection against majority of malicious programs in the computer market, if you are unhappy with McAfee Antivirus program for sluggish computer performance or simply looking to switch to a new antivirus program during the time of renewal, then you need to uninstall McAfee from your desktop or laptop.
