My grandpa is having quite some difficulties removing Webroot Security, but not just the normal way. Initially, he had it installed, and it worked fine. His time ran out, and he didn’t like it enough to renew it. So he uninstalled it, and it disappeared fine. But, a month later, he did a System Restore, it just keeps bugging him. Every time Windows starts up, Webroot asks him for CD-Key which he no longer has. So, he checks out Add-Remove Programs but there is nothing to uninstall it.
If you are also experiencing problems with installation or uninstall, we recommend that you follow these steps:
Uninstall the Webroot software:
For Windows XP users
Perform the following steps:
- Go to Start, and then click on Control Panel.
- Double-click Add and Remove Programs.
- Scroll to the bottom of the programs list until you see the Webroot Security.
- Click on the program you want to uninstall, and then click the Remove button.
- Once the uninstall process has finished, restart your computer.
For Windows 7 and Vista users
Perform the following steps:
- Click on the Start button and open the Control Panel.
- Depending on the view of your window, you will either see Uninstall a Program or Programs and Features. Double-click either option.

- Click on the program you want to uninstall, and then click the Uninstall button located just above the list.
- Once the uninstall process has finished, restart your computer.
