Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall Dell PC TuneUp but still get the same error message? Ryan had an Inspiron 1520 Dell Computer with Windows Vista for about a month now. The other day I received a pop-up message saying his trial subscription to Dell Automated PC Tuneup was up. So he decided to uninstall it as it won’t let him to do a defragment or a disk cleanup or other maintenance tasks on PC without giving any solution. It has frustrated him for weeks now, and even when he go to the file itself on my hard drive, it won’t even let me simply delete it and send it to the recycling bin. How do you get this devil thing off your computer?

Issue on removing Dell PC TuneUp
Ryan’s brother has spent the last couple days trying to do research to find out exactly what the Dell PC TuneUp does but the Dell Support site is extremely unhelpful. When he tries to uninstall it through control panel, he gets message saying “An Invalid character was found in text content. Line: 13 LocalDi8ae(C:).”
and then when i shut that down, I get another message saying:
“Access violation at address 13520460 in module ‘PCTuneUp.exe’. Read of address 00000310.”

My computer is a Dell XPS Studio 16 running Windows 7. It began as a Vista laptop then In updated to Windows 7 last summer. A couple of months ago, my computer became unusable, it was so slow it was nearly impossible to use! So, I talked to a computer expert and he told me to install Tuneup Utilities. I did. Immediately it found a whole bunch of problems and fixed them, as well as defragmenting the registry and my hard drive. My computer was fast, and I was happy. But, fast forward a couple of months, and now my computer is nearly as slow. (Not un-usable but very, very hard to use) I cheeked with Tuneup Utilities and it didn’t find anything wrong! Any ideas?
