So my boy friend bought McAfee Family Protection thinking it was virus scanning and stuff like that. Now the program is causing his computer to freeze up constantly and it is blocking pages he needs to go to for school. When trying to uninstall the program it asks for an admin name and password. Unfortunately he cannot remember either one and didn’t bother writing it down. He doesn’t want to have to rebuild the whole computer in order to get this program off. Is there anything you can do take this Mcafee antivirus away?
Uninstalling McAfee Family Protection requires a uninstall.exe
Use the following procedure to generate a code and uninstall the program:
1. Double-click the Family Protection icon in your taskbar.
2. Login to Family Protection using your Administrator credentials.
3. Click Get uninstall.exe. Make a note of this code.
4. Click Done.

To do this, you will have to close all programs and disconnect your computer from the internet. Alternatively, you can do this by turning off your DSL or Cable modem, or unplugging your network cable from the back of your computer. I am experiencing some obstacles in removing the McAfee Family Protection from my laptop. Recently I changed from SKY to BT (for broadband service), and when I first got the BT system up and running, all seem to be functioning as normal. Then two days ago I loaded the BT NetProtect Plus….thereafter all hell broke loose. Now I cannot use the internet (although the little icon on the desktop’s toolbar is saying that I am connected and the signal is very strong).
McAfee is blocking firefox + internet explorer…
I cannot right-click in order to obtain ‘uninstall code’ from the McAfee’s logo/program.
….What other alternatives from the above-stated, are there for me to fix this issue?
