How do you completely uninstall Zune not just through “add/remove programs”? My little brother want everything gone that is associated with Zune. He has an older Zune which accidentally upgraded the software and now the software doesn’t recognize his Zune when he plugs it in. He tired to uninstall the Zune software, but it wouldnt. So he deleted every trace of it on his computer by just deleting files he found that related to it. But the computer still thinks it’s there. When he run the Zune setup it says its “up to date” and then an error comes up saying it can’t find the app. He tired several programs to totally delete it off his computer, but nothing has worked

What is Zune software?
Technically speaking, if you use a Zune portable media player, you will need to have the Zune companion software installed so you can sync the content on your computer with your Zune device. If you are changing your computer, or you are no longer able to use your Zune device, you may want to uninstall or reinstall the Zune software.

To remove the Zune software from the computer on Windows 7 or Windows Vista:
Make sure that the Zune player or phone is not connected to your computer.
Click Start, type appwiz.cpl in the Start Search box, and then press Enter.
In the “Uninstall or change a program” window, click Zune, and then click Uninstall.
Click “Yes” to remove the Zune software.
If any of the following software is listed in the “Uninstall or change a program window,” remove that software from the computer:
Microsoft User-Mode Driver Framework Feature Pack 1.0
Windows Driver Package – Microsoft WPD
Windows Media Format 11 SDK
Windows Portable Devices

If you receive an error message that states that there are program dependencies blocking the removal of the software, do not remove that software. After that, you need to locate and right-click to delete the Zune folder if it is still there. However, it is impossible remove all Zune system files or you will probably end up jamming up your computer. Anyhow, there is one way possible. That is running a Perfect Uninstaller and makes it generate a removal solution for you.

A Perfect Uninstaller will either gives a normal uninstall for Zune if listed or provide a forcible uninstall once you right its program file or icon. Needless to say, a working Perfect Uninstaller has removed numerous programs like Veoh Player for users around the world.

I’m trying to reinstall Zune because I deleted it the first time since it didn’t install exactly where I wanted it to go and when you move files it causes it not to work. Now that I deleted the contents, I’m trying to install again from the same Zune software cd and keeps telling me my Zune software is up to date – when I don’t even have it on my computer! Will your tool find it?

I went to install Zune thinking it would be better, well that was not true. So i just need to find a way to delete it if possible, with out having to reformat my drive on my xbox360. And your progam did it. Great job.

Aw, this was a really nice post. In thought I would like to put in writing like this moreover – taking time and actual effort to make a very good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and by no means appear to get one thing done.
