Software Uninstall – How Do You Fully Remove Roxio software?

Is it possible to delete Roxio software off your computer? Can anyone tell me how to uninstall my Roxio completely from my computer? I just want to get rid of it for good. The following steps are what I have tried to remove Roxio software from my computer.

First of all, you need to disable your startup applications using MSCONFIG. This will disable any unnecessary background or system tray applications from loading.

1. Go to Start -> Run. Type “msconfig” (without quotes) then click OK.
2. Select the Startup tab.
3. Click the Disable All button.
4. Click the Apply button, then click the OK button.
5. Click the Restart button

To reverse this at the end of installation, go back into MSCONFIG and select Enable All and restart (that can be done once installation is complete).

After that, you will have to remove any Roxio programs from Control Panel if you receive a certificate file error while trying to remove the Roxio program. Follow the instructions below to use the Microsoft Cleanup Utility to remove Roxio software.

Remove Roxio program through the Control Panel

1. Go to Start > Control Panel. Double-click on Add or Remove Programs. (In Windows Vista, go Start Menu>Control Panel>Programs >Uninstall a program.)



2. Select Roxio icon and click Change/Remove.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

When the computer is rebooted, reveal the hidden files on your computer.
Go to “My Computer” in the “Start” menu and select “Organize – Folder and Search Options.” In the “View” tab, select the hidden folders option and click “Apply.”
Then, locate and delete all file folders with Roxio in the name. In “Program Files,” delete the “Roxio” folder. Then open “Common Files” and delete “Roxio Shared” in that folder. In “Users – (your username) – App Data,” delete the “Roxio” folders in the “Local” and “Roaming” folders. Empty your Recycling Bin.

Last but not least, you should remove Roxio’s registry keys by taking these steps:

1. Input “regedit” in the “Start” menu’s Search field and open the “HKEY_CURRENT_USER” folder. Open the “Software” folder and delete the “Roxio” folder inside that one (right-click the Roxio folder and select delete).Delete the Sonic folder if there is one.
2. Switch from the “HKEY_CURRENT_USER” folder to the “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” folder. Delete “Roxio” (and “Sonic”) in the “Software” folder contained here as well.
3. Restart your computer.

If you go through these steps but it won’t do it or when you try to reinstall it, it gives me runtime errors. There was a program I came across on here that completely uninstalls Roxio files from your system. And no, it is not the Add/Remove one in Windows. It was a seperate program called Perfect Uninstaller.
