Uninstalling Norton Internet Security For My Computer

My aunt has uninstalled Norton Internet Security 2003 manually. But, after rebooting the computer, her laptop cannot connect to the internet anymore and keep saying that it cannot renew the IP address. IShe has tried many things including uninstall and reinstall the network adapter and also tried to use Winsock XP fix, but all don’t help. All the connection is ok except the renewing of IP address.

My roommate also attempted to uninstall Norton Antivirus as he keeps getting workstations that say “The virus definitions are out of date” and have not been able to do a “Live Update”. When he tries to open NAV, the option is grayed out. The computer hangs when I attempt the uninstall, he gets an error message of “Error 1921 Service SaVRoam could not be stopped verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services”. He has tried to uninstall using the administrator login, and as himself. I have attempted to stop the service “SavRoam”, but haven’t been able to do so.

I also began with:

1. First, remove the Live Update (Symantec Corporation) program from your computer.



2. Select the program name and click on the Change/Remove button.
3. Click “Yes”, when prompted? Are you sure you want to delete Norton Live Update.?
4. Click OK. Live Update has been uninstalled successfully.
5. Next, click on Norton Internet Security 2003, and then click on the Change button.
6. Click “Yes”, when prompted? Are you sure you want to delete Norton Internet Security from your computer?
7. Click Remove All.
8. Click Next.
9. Click “Next” again, to remove Norton Internet Security.
10. Wait while Norton is being uninstalled.
11. Click Finish.
12. Click “Yes” to restart your computer.
