Why Can’t You Delete Symantec Files? – Removing All Symantec Programs

symantecI was able to uninstall Norton by the Norton removal tool but still that folder has 3 left over files which are not deleted. I am very annoyed deleting this Symantec files, such as symlcsvc.exe, symlcrst.dll, symlcnet.dll, as they won’t get deleted. How can you delete them permanently?

How to Uninstall Symantec?
Are you having troubles when trying to uninstall Symantec? In fact, Symantec software is quite difficult to remove if you don’t know your way around a computer. One of the main problems is that it can be hard to locate files and folders that are hidden within the hard drive and system registry. If it’s just the Symantec program itself you want to delete then follow these instructions;
1. Click the Start button on your computer and locate the Control Panel.
2. Once inside you will have to find and double-clicks the Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features icon.
3. Look through the list of programs and find Symantec. It could be named Symantec Antivirus, Norton Antivirus or LiveUpdate.
4. Highlight the software and press the Install/Uninstall button located on the top of the screen.
5. Follow the instructions that you are given and then restart your computer.

At this point you will have removed the Symantec program itself but not the files and folders that are associated with it. To do this you have to manually remove them from the hard drive, this can be very dangerous and can harm your computer if you delete the wrong files. To do this you must;
1. Double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop and navigate to Local drive C.
2. Delete the files and folders that are named: symlcsvc.exe, symlcrst.dll, symlcnet.dll.
3. Empty your recycle bin and then restart your computer.

    Oh, what should I do?! Should I uninstall Office 2003 or keep it that way? Does it really do harm to my computer? If so, OK, I will try to remove it immediately.
